The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is a semi-judicial body that holds public hearings on zoning variances and administrative appeals.

The Board of Zoning Appeals:

  • considers and grants variances when strict compliance to the zoning ordinance is not practical or represents an unnecessary hardship.
  • grants special exceptions, conditional uses, and variances to developmental standards.
  • hears appeals of decisions made by the zoning administrator.
  • helps property owners with special situations find relief when there is good and sufficient cause.

Meetings

The Board of Zoning Appeals usually meets at 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, except August.
