Through adherence to and recommended changes or variances to the Town’s land-use plans and zoning codes, the Planning Commission helps shape the Vienna of the future. The Planning Commission hears and makes recommendations to Town Council regarding rezoning requests, final plats, and other planning and zoning matters. The Planning Commission is responsible for preparing the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission adopted bylaws in 2019 which have been amended and revised many times, the most recent revision approved in December 2022.

The Planning Commission meets at 7:30 pm on the following:

• second and fourth Wednesday January-June
• fourth Wednesday in July
• second Wednesday in August
• second and fourth Wednesday in September
• second Wednesday October-December, unless otherwise noted or amended.
