Join us for an interactive community meeting to introduce the park planning process and walk through activities and small group discussions to understand the community's perspective on what works well and what can be improved for parks and recreation in the Town of Vienna.

We will also open the Master Plan survey to the entire Vienna community in May.  This will help ensure every voice can be heard throughout all plan phases.  Keep an eye on this project website for the online community survey launch.  A survey link will also be made available in the June issue of Vienna Voice and through the Town’s social media channels.

March 27, 2024:  Our first community survey for the parks and recreation master plan is on its way to randomly selected residents.  If you're among the recipients, please return the completed survey by mail or utilize the provided link to submit your responses online.  Don’t fret if you haven’t received one!  A digital survey will be accessible soon, ensuring every voice counts.  Your feedback is instrumental in shaping Our Plan to Play!

What is the Parks Master Plan? 

The Town of Vienna Department Parks and Recreation is currently developing a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Our Plan to Play, to create a shared vision for a safe, accessible, equitable, healthy, sustainable, and community-centered parks and recreation experience in Vienna. 

Our Plan to Play will emphasize the strengths of our community, identify missing needs, and define a multi-year vision to guide the maintenance, operation, and future opportunities for the Town's parks, trails, and recreational facilities and programming.  

Anticipated Timeline

The development of this plan is anticipated to take approximately 12 to 16 months.

A parks master plan is a strategic, comprehensive document that outlines the long-term vision, goals, and objectives for the development, enhancement, and management of parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities within a community. It serves as a roadmap for decision-making, resource allocation, and future development efforts to ensure that the community's recreational needs are met and that the parks system is sustainable and accessible for all residents.
