The Town’s zoning compliance officer investigates reported violations, related to Chapter 13, Chapter 13.A, and Chapter 18 of the Town Code, and works with property owners to achieve compliance through education about the Town’s ordinances.  While many zoning violations are first observed by Town staff, we also rely on a partnership with Town business owners and citizens to inform us of suspected zoning violations.

Potential zoning violations

Submit any zoning-related, non-emergency complaints - such as concerns about inoperable vehicles, weeds, or overgrown grass and unkempt properties, though Vienna ConnectVienna Connect is the Town of Vienna's resident application to report various requests or problems to Town staff.

Potential violations also may be reported directly to the department of planning and zoning via email at DPZenforcement@viennava.gov or phone, 703-255-5754.  Please provide the violation address and nature of the potential violation in emails or voice messages.

Resolving violations

Residents and business owners are notified of violations via mail.  For questions about the content of violation letters, please contact the zoning compliance officer via email at DPZenforcement@viennava.gov or phone, 703-255-5754.

To move forward with permit review or other processes to resolve violations, residents and business owners should review submission requirements on the Zoning Application & Plan Review page.

Noise violations & non-emergency police issues

For immediate response, report urgent, non-emergency issues, including noise complaints, directly to the Vienna Police Department 24/7 at 703-255-6366.
